eSDI-Net+ workshop in Belgium
28 April 2009
Information
The eSDI-NET+ project aims to establish a European network for promotion of cross-border dialogue and exchange of best practices on Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs) throughout Europe.
Activities that contribute to the accomplishment of the eSDI-NET+ project main goal are to identify and analyse existing SDI solutions on the sub-national level and to promote the exchange of best practices and knowledge between stakeholders involved in the creation and use of SDIs through the organisation of national workshops.
Several workshops took or will take place in Europe. Based on the description of the sub-national SDIs (through questionnaires, selected interviews and presentations and discussions during the workshops, an international panel will make a final selection of best practices in view of a European best practice award. Some of the best practices will be presented during a conference in Turin, 19-20 November 2009.
Target audience of the national workshop
We will invite SDI practitioners from the three regional SDIs in Belgium, from inter-municipal initiatives, from local authorities and from SDI initiatives at the federal level. There will be focused invitations in order to have several people from the known initiatives. However, the workshop will also be announced through SDI websites and mail listings. It is expected to have around 60 people attending.
