Theory-based SDI research: North and South
Delft, The Netherlands

Technische Universiteit Delft
Onderzoeksinstituut OTB
Jaffalaan 9, 2628 BX Delft

Sunday, June 14, 2009

We are pleased to announce the details of the PhD workshop “SDI research: North and South”, on 14th of June 2009, in Delft, The Netherlands. This will precede the GSDI 11 conference, in Rotterdam (June 15-19, 2009). The SDI PhD workshop will be an opportunity for SDI researchers to present their work and discuss issues of concern: substantive, theoretical, methodological or practical.

Each PhD-student introduces his/her research (max 10 minutes) in two panels sessions (panels 1 and 2) in the morning. In the afternoon, we first have a session with group discussion (three groups of PhD students will be formed). In the fourth session (panel 3), each group presents the outcomes of the group discussion in terms of one proposition per group, followed by discussion. (These propositions form the basis for the GSDI-11 pre-conference workshop on June 15.) A final plenary session (closing session) discusses the outcomes of the previous session (panel 3) and proposes future steps to sustain our initiative.

Looking forward to meeting you on June 14th.
